You’re the apple of my eye
You’re luscious and you’re sweet
You’re ciders are so delish
You’re everything I would wish
Never gonna shake your tree
You’re handpicked only for me!
Wishing you a great Valentine’s Day. Make sure you raise a glass (of Charrington’s of course) to the people you love and to friendships new and old. You might like Jazz it up a little and put Louis Armstrong’s “Apple of my eye” on your music streaming service while you do.
If you are empty handed or just in need of a top up at this late stage, you can still collect an order from the farm and there are even gift vouchers for the really last minute. We are great believers in “self gifting” which is the best way of getting what you really want!
Peel the love? It’s the power of Polyphenols!
Apples, apple juice and even our ciders contain a variety of polyphenols (also known as flavonoids or phytochemicals) including quercetin, catechin, phloridzin and chlorogenic acid. These amazing antioxidants are naturally produced by the apple tree and are known to have many health benefits including reducing heart diseases, having anti-inflammatory qualities, and even fighting many types of common cancers. Quercetin is essentially a pigment and is stimulated by the tree’s exposure to natural light. Quercetin’s ability to support improved circulation has been linked to a reduction in cholesterol and improved brain function which is especially relevant for conditions like Alzheimer’s. As it is Valentine’s week, we can’t resist also pointing out that it helps men improve in another important function!
So there you have it, who would have known that we could have such a crush on our hand-picked natural home-grown apples. No wonder Adam shared one with Eve!
With love,
Alex!
